COTABATO CITY – The Autonomous Region Government declares Thursday, August 6, as Special Non-Working Holiday in the entire Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in observance of Nisfu Sha’ban.
ARMM Regional Governor Datu Zaldy Uy Ampatuan appeals to all government employees and constituents of ARMM to “commemorate this religious event in a manner appropriate for the said occasion.”
Nisfu Sha’ban is a religious and historical day in the Muslim world which is observed every 15th of Sha’ban, the eight month of the Hijrah calendar. This year, Nisfu Sha’ban, falls on August 6.
The occasion gathers all Muslims in the world on a night of worship and salvation. Some view it as special night of seeking forgiveness and repentance to Allah. (BPI-ARMM)
